What are the best rebounding drills for youth basketball players?

If you want to be a great rebounder in basketball, there are some really cool drills you can do to practice. Here are a few of my favorites:

  1. 21 Rebounds: This is a game-like drill where you try to be the first one to grab 21 rebounds. You have to grab the ball with both hands, and you can only take one dribble before passing it back to the coach. This drill helps you work on your rebounding technique, while also building your strength and endurance.
  2. Tip Drill: This is a fun drill where you practice tipping the ball to yourself or your teammates after a missed shot. You can do this by yourself or with a partner. It helps you develop your reaction time and hand-eye coordination.
  3. Box Out Drill: In this drill, you learn how to establish good position and block out the other players before going for the rebound. You start by standing near the rim and facing the baseline, then pivot and block out the imaginary opponent behind you. This drill helps you use your body to create space and get in position for rebounds.
  4. Zig-Zag Rebounding: In this drill, you zig-zag up and down the court, grabbing rebounds along the way. It helps you develop your footwork and agility, while also improving your rebounding technique.
